The Liberty Cap Half Cent - Head Facing Right, designed by Robert Scot in 1794 and John Smith Gardner from 1795 to 1797, is a United States coin that was minted from 1794 to 1797. It features a female representation of Liberty on the obverse, facing to the right, with a cap on a pole behind her and a Wreath on the reverse. It features several different edge varieties. In 1795, there was a reduction in planchet thickness which reduced the weight of the coin but kept the diameter the same. The coin was minted only at the Philadelphia Mint.
